1. Eligibility

Deb8er is designed for participants between the ages of 10 and 18. By using this platform, you confirm that you meet this age requirement or have parental/guardian consent to use the service. Users under the age of 13 must have verified parental consent in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

If you do not meet these eligibility requirements, you may not use Deb8er.

2. Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access.
• Notify Deb8er immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

You may not share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts for a single individual.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Deb8er to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
• Post or transmit content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform, servers, or networks.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or other users' accounts.
• Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers without prior written consent.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Engage in any form of cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty within debate or MUN activities.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit, post, or display on Deb8er ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Deb8er a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content.
• Your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Your content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Deb8er reserves the right to remove any User Content at its sole discretion, without notice, for any reason.

5. Debates, MUNs & Learning Features

Deb8er provides tools for participating in debates, Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, and educational learning modules. By using these features, you agree that:

• All debate and MUN participation is conducted in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner.
• Certificates earned through Deb8er reflect genuine participation and achievement.
• Learning content is provided for educational purposes and should not be considered professional or academic advice.
• Deb8er does not guarantee the accuracy of user-provided information during debates or conferences.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Deb8er — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and design — are the exclusive property of Deb8er or its licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our platform or its content without prior written consent from Deb8er.

7. Suspension & Termination

Deb8er reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the platform, other users, or third parties.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use Deb8er ceases immediately.
• We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
• Any outstanding obligations under these Terms survive termination.

8. Third-Party Services

Deb8er may integrate with or link to third-party services, such as Firebase, Google Sign-In, and external APIs. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Deb8er is not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.

9. Disclaimer

Deb8er is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The platform will be available at all times or without interruption.
• The content on Deb8er is accurate, complete, or reliable.
• Defects, if any, will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Deb8er and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use Deb8er.
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.
• Any interruption, suspension, or cessation of the platform.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of Deb8er after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
